Project Name:Citibank (3617)

Location:Downey, CA

Type:Commercial

Contract Value:$ 76,000's

Project Summary:

This LEED project consisted of sewer, fireline, water pipeline and storm drainage systems installations by Kana Pipeline at an accelerated schedule.

Highlights: This L.E.E.D.* project consisted of sewer, fireline, water pipeline and storm drainage systems installations by Kana Pipeline. Work consisted of 4" VCP sewer pipeline connections and tie-ins to existing sewer main; installation of sewer cleanouts, 2-inch BFPD (backflow prevention device), 6-inch double detector check assembly (DDCA), and fire sprinkler riser for fire line system; Storm drainage systems consisting of approximately 400 LF 10", 8" and 6" SDR 35 PVC pipe, 24x24 drop inlets, catch basins, fossil filters, and a 13-row Cultec 100 HD Heavy Duty underground storm water retention basin system. This was the site of a former gas station which led to concerns involving contaminated soil and related handling. Therefore there was much needed collaboration from all affected contractors, agencies and City authorities to comply with all applicable codes and safety regulations, as well as work with the General Contractor and Owner's requirements that stressed limited time frames, working overtime and weekends, to meet accelerated schedule demands.

*Note, L.E.E.D. stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is a Green Building Rating System, which encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.
